was an nice moment with you guys, tx all
The same of me too. I enjoyed these races with you guys so much and of course all these Grottis. Thank you very much for that fun!
Trejoo you remembered the combact Brioso race and the start issues? I watched psyxeon's Video. Thank you for beeing fair, to remark you have Offroad Tires. Now I understood why you got out of the car. The chat gone too wild.
And thank you for all your support, suggestions and discussions. That brings life to the crew. And Lord for Co-Host. It's good to know that someone is looking at the settings too.
Nice high quality screens Urik , very impressive scenes. Do you have some videos?
psyxeon I watched your event videos. Not every minutes, but I enjoyed it. Do you want to post these here?

Sorry, I have no energy left for angry feelings about being overtaken with more than 10 km/h over 60 fps-topspeed on saturday evenings. Drive without me, have fun. I am aware of the fact that our gaming equipment cannot be set to fully equal conditions. Plus I am not the person to search the internet for possibilities to be quicker in races - may it be called a glitch, a hack, a trick or whatever.
Personally I am in this crew for social reasons while gaming, and not to compete. I am happy to start and finish at the end of the field and I am really happy for every friend who wins.
In our crew events i meanwhile can predict the order of success right before the event happens, just by reading the list of participating members. L2rs will win, Kara will be second, for example. I feel annoyed about this indeed, because i doubt that these two friends of mine are the only drivers in our crew who can win a race by skill and the necessary portion of luckyness.
Most of my friends in this game manage to set their cars to the max-velocity which my personal car will have. Rushki and I are fully equal, even Beckosun, who is the brain of tuning with a great equipment for me, has no problem to make his system equal to mine.
I dont want to accuse someone! But i think that we need the rule to use no other programme than Fraps or smething like that with GTA when we drive racing events. And to set VSync ON ingame + at the graphic settings of the PC. This is everything we can do and even with that we will have little differences with our cars. These differences can be recognized by the persons who are quicker as well, and it should cause a reaction of fairness and a check of the personal equipment settings, not a win!
I would say congrats to the winners if i didnt know that it is the unequal technology which made them win. Take care of that, guys, please, and have a nice sunday.
greetings from Gramps

While i didn't like these techniques at the beinning either, i came to arrange myself and i see it similiar to baron in his video.. if its in the game, everyone can use it. Its a race and if you really want to be the fastest you got to use everything thats within the set rules. plus brakeboosting is a technique that at least requires some skill to get it right, which can make it quite fun and rewarding. Its also possible on kb, so everyone can use it. ss on the other only works with analog input, so that is a bit unfair.. however the benefits of that are not that big.. At that race in question i was a bit angry (at myself), because at the beginning i spun out two ppl by accident and had to wait a long time (until i realised lukas had missed a cp as well..), so i said screw it and just threw everything i had at it.. ;-)
regarding vsync and Hz: nothing about that was in the OP, only 60 fps.. so again no reason to punish oneself with additional input lag.. although i must say i barely noticed a difference except for the first 2 minutes. even went faster than on friday.. but i guess that was being more due to using controller instead of kb.. and probably also not being as wasted as on friday.. ;-) perhaps we should also apply a no drinking rule while we're at it, that would at least help a little with the chaos maybe..

we need to drive rally more, so that the road makes your mistakes, not the driver

I agree with you, that was not nice. But we must not allow the events are too serious, especially also too "German" by trying to control everything. For example too have an spectator during the race, to observe the racer. We are humans and all have different personalities, you can't controll everything. Above all, I always presuppose a lot of human mind ahead and hope that it works.

It was fun at the beginning until drivers started crashing, and re-enter track in an unsafe manner. Causing me and some others to get involved in an pile up. Bye good results and that happened 3 times to me, resulting me to fall back into one of the last places and have a really hard time to avoid getting the DNF. From that point i just wasn't giving 100% pace anymore but just 85%

Alright, so there was quite a spike in replies and discussion on sunday after the event. I was so sleep-deprived and knackered after busy weekend I'm only now bringing myself to reply to this all. So here's a combined long-ass reply to a bunch of points made by others, and yes of course I didn't spend too much time checking it for errors and flow. Yeah, as he said, sadly these glitches are in the game, but thats the game and so many gamers are using these for their own advance. <...> And it looks so weird for me, braking during a straight road, to get the braking boost etc. I have seen this Video yesterday too and that's the perfect example how stupid it looks like in the game. That's not gaming, that's just bullshit. I'm not a fan of these techniques. What alienates me is all the unrealistic glitches and behavior. That includes treating the entire street like a racetrack. The car would be totaled if it was to hit a lamppost in real life, while the curbing would likely result in permanent damage to rim or cause a flat. I realize of course how shallow it's to complain about realism in gta game, especially after last two years. But it's just me. I don't even like racing much, as I said before, I ended up here because my cruising/roadtripping crew sorta died off. I do like the interaction and adventure part of it. And I guess it's my general mental state whining, since I'm mostly bored of all videogames and don't partake in pvp/competitive modes anymore. In the end of the day, I often don't give a fuck since I take everything with a laugh. Many glitches are not possible on Keyboard and thats not realy fair! Well here I'm on the "gamepad" side, and I think it's fair because it's a superior control method. I mean, if one really wants to enjoy driving (or flying) - and I don't mean racing, I mean any driving within the game - they should consider a gamepad. Afterall, you wouldn't take your real car, rip out the wheels/pedals and replace it with a bunch of wall switches. While I did feel weird and slightly uncomfortable pulling away from several starts during event due to using gamepad, I see it perfectly justifiable since launch control is used all the time in real life in all those car youtube videos / Top Gear/ Grand Tour. I know I'm taking it out of context, it's just fun that you mentioned it since I remember the days of using Fraps, it would often lock fps to whatever framerate it records to and eat some CPU usage. On the flip side, I could record like 90fps which Nvidia's Share/Shadowplay still can't. Files were huge though as they weren't compressed like h264 is. But nvidia's Share "nvenc" encoder really made things easier, allowing for no-performance-impact capturing or streaming. And to set VSync ON ingame + at the graphic settings of the PC. I'd like to add that specifically GTAV ingame vsync is crap and it's better to just force vsync in nvidia control panel and leave it off in game (nvidia setting overrides it anyway). Back when I used 144hz monitor, vsync would sometimes cap me at 72 (1/2 of 144) every now and then, I think it had to do with stuff like alt tabbing etc. By the way, we can now also use freesync on nvidia with a proper DP cable (note: freesync/g-sync only applies when fps goes below refresh rate, so it doesn't really do anything if your game never falls below that ) vsync <...> no reason to punish oneself with additional input lag.. although i must say i barely noticed a difference except for the first 2 minutes. That's another thing I never understood and consider overrated. I'm not questioning the fact, but perhaps people are just following the popular opinion of input lag boogeyman rather than actually avoiding vsync because of their own experience with it. Screen tearing, however, is always noticeable to me without vsync, regardless if fps is above or below refresh rate, so I can't imagine how anyone can tolerate it. perhaps we should also apply a no drinking rule while we're at it, that would at least help a little with the chaos maybe.. I'd make it a drinking game, player takes a shot each time they knock down a prop or ride a curb! Trejoo you remembered the combact Brioso race and the start issues? I watched psyxeon's Video. Thank you for being fair, to remark you have Offroad Tires. Now I understood why you got out of the car. The chat gone too wild. I don't care about the restart, even over something insignificant as one person's tires. What did annoy me though, is the audacity some folks had writing something to effect of (and I'm paraphrasing) "Are you blind" and "read the chat ffs". And I didn't detect sarcasm there. Once time was posted, people are committed to start (eyes on time) so you can't expect them to react so sudden "oh wait!" sort of thing. Text chat is very inefficient for such events to begin with. It kinda reminds me of similar things happening once in a while in real sports - with pretty much same outcome lol. Nice high quality screens Urik , very impressive scenes. Do you have some videos? I do have screen recordings just like Psyxeon's. I certainly can't make cinematics of these at this time, as it would take weeks (and I got way too much other footage to take care of besides that). I could just cut an edit of the screen recordings, BUT, they do come with voice chat (of me/Amides/Lob/Lukas). So there's a lot of offtopic bullshit, casual talk (and not always clearly spoken - me), lots of sarcasm and jokes and even mentions of other people. Some stuff will have to be cut out. And, you might've noticed things did get ugly at certain times, especially by end of day2 - I dunno, I wouldn't want to stir more drama shit up. Anyways, I did get the footage transcoded for editing over sunday (2tb, so it's in my interest to not have it occupying space for too long), so I could probably make some sort of something of it this week before everyone forgets the event. /Over

Hi there) nota bene: be lenient with the accuracy of my message, I have a very poor level of English and the more by my texts are from Google translation!! Yes Rushki I had seen in the rules of the event that mud tires were forbidden but I had forgotten that my brioso possessed) but saw it at last moment then normal i alerte you all and sry about that)) But sincerely I had done multiple test with boty at the beginning in gta5 and the mud tyre gave more the impression of placebo than real speed gain, can be a little bit for the boost on the curb cut "border" it's true and maybe more noticable with brioso possible. About the 60 fps : my feelings about the speed gain with the FPS very high: for me there are only a few cars that are affected by glitch: RE7B, Comet retro custom, 811, can be the xa21 and the race jester not sure i have recently get an 144 hz monitor freesync. if i put freesync on and vsync off and medium graphics quality ingame, i get framerate plage "fps" 80 to 120-130 fps on average(rx 580). then i tested if my re7b, comet retro, 811 was affected by the glitch answer :No. exactly same top end speed and accélération.(good new for me, i hate the spirit to use glitch volontary for be faster than his 10 years friends video games xd, especialy in an old friendly crew as we was and are…) it's a good idea to forbidden mud tires and fps over 60 frames it's the best we can do but, this game is as gta 4 remember some racers was constant speed glitchers, same after restarting the game they cannot fix it. i think their is something unknow pass out of our controle gta5 superb videogame race… i love it as the 4. but for people really passionate by compétitive and fair races games, better go to simulation video cars cya later m8's and ty again for this superb event was top for me)) Trejoo
