Since the Casino DLC, GTA5/Online keeps crashing on PC and I'm back on Desktop. Before that, I could count the crashes since 2015 on one hand. And thats respectable for a growing Open World Game.
It's always the same error in the launcherlog
I've heard many reports from friends and other guys they know them. Their games keeps crashing randomly all the time. Sometimes after some minutes, sometimes after some hours, sometimes even in the Pre-Lobby, sometimes during the game is launching, sometimes not at all.
After a crash after some minutes, I try something and the game is running for hours, but than...Boom, Crash. In any situation, it's randomly.
Oddly enough, there is nothing in the public to read about this issue. Not in the Forum, not even in Twitter. But there are so many players out there with crasing issues and no puplic reports?
Is there anybody with the same issue?

I have this issue as well. After ALOT of digging and searching around the net, ended up on a Microsoft technical help forum (by a very long and curctitious route).Turns out that the problem seems to have been caused by a Microsft security update that dropped about the same time that the Casino DLC came out.For some users this update screwed up the Teredo conectivity functions - sometimes working, sometimes not, sometimes intermittent. This seems only to affect games that use legacy Windows Live connection protocols (GTA5 being chief among those few games), other online games using far more modern networking protocols are unaffected.Microsoft say that they are "aware" of the problem and promise a fix at the end of the month (August), so hopefully this will be sorted in the next few days.So to recap - Microsoft security update screws up (an old) Microsoft networking protocol, while Rockstar continue to use an old and outdated networking protocol.

Ok, that makes sense, because I read some player made test with GTA5 in offline modus. No connection to the Rockstar Cloudserver or Social Club (thats possible) and they had no issues and crashes. One guy told the game ran over 30h without any crash.
For me I tried almost everything, if you use google for code 0xc0000005 and GTA Online. This is story would be too long. As a random diagnosis, the Ram-Check-Tool told me, 1 Ram module has issues (thats strange because I have no other issues or crashes in my OS or other Software and Games) but I removed this Ram module. I tested this yesterday and GTA Online was still crashing.
Today I'll try to disable Nvidia HD Audio devices. I don't use them anyway.
Update:
Well it didn't work, GTA Online is still crashing

Windows update did not work for me, as time has gone on the ctd actually seems to be getting worse now.I've tryed soooo many possible "solutions" and nothing seems to work, and R* tech suppourt are worse than useless. It definately seems to be a GTA5 online only issue as i can play GTA5 single player story mode for however long i like with no problems and all my other online games continue to work without any problems.

The newest Win10 Update (KB4512941 from August 30th) didn't work for me aswell. On the day after the Win10 Update, the game (GTA Online) ran +3,5h without any crashes. But the day after, issues and crashes came back, sometimes after 1h or 15-30min. Even a fresh Win10 installation, didn't avoid the crashes. Like always, sometimes after 1h or 15-30min. I'm realy done with that bullshit!
GTA Online is playing like in hell, not possible and makes no fun. 15-30min
Single Player (Social Club online) works better, but crashes happen too. +1h
Single Player (Social Club offline) works perfect, with out issues and crashes. +10h
I believe more and more it's something with the online transaction part in this game.

With the new Win10 Updates KB4514359 + KB4515384
Single Player (Social Club Off/Online) works fine +4-6h tested the last 3 days GTA Online works better, but crashes still happen very often. The first 3 hours, exactly 60min after game launching, the game crashed. Fullscreen, Window Mode, Borderless Window Mode. The 4th try took 80min, before I was tired. GN😴

zahzi Anything new? I'm responding with other guys in GTAforums.com. But many other player from other forums (even Nvidia) etc. have the same issues and nothing helps
GTA Online keeps crashing. Today again exact after 1hr ingame. 😫
Support told me, from my msinfo32 they know, I have the newest Nvidia driver. But thats not true, I have a very old version from November 2018, 416.81(for testing) 😩 But...they told me too, they know about the issues with the newest Nvidia driver and GTA 5. Finally something!!!
They told me too, to deinstall my Antivir Avira. I'm safe from Windows Defender 😋 They said, Antivir (Avira) doesn't work with GTA5. Thats bullsh*t, it's fine. My GTA5 and all other software runs with Avira without any issues, since I have Internet! 1999/2000 😁
And the told me, to set the OS language to English US, maybe gamesettings from GTA5 too. WTF? No? 😂
I'm finally done with that Support!

I got Steam version, and (I think) I only had one crash since the update. I keep hearing from some players I know about the crashing issue, but I haven't had it myself.

Rushki If that helps, I've seen friends linking to a thread about Nvidia drivers and that using a Studio driver (also known as creators driver). I always had the studio driver since it was added as an option, and never had these crashes after update. I'm on 431.70 but I think in the thread they say 431.86 works just as fine.

Urik I have read this thread too. Thank you, but I tried these studio driver already. But I can't install these driver, because my GPU is to old (780Ti). There is no studio driver at Nvidia HP for my GPU anymore. At the moment I'm trying 431.60 from 23th July.
These crashes are so weird. 3 days ago I was able to play 2hours, before I quit the game for myself. 2 days ago, after 2x(exactly)15min playing and crashing, I was done again. Yesterday, after 3hours without any issues and crashes (I switched many times too desktop and back to game for collecting these action figures ), before I quit the game for myself.
Maybe, just maybe...the game don't like a not clean shutdown and will crash the next time for 100% the next few minutes again. Or after a crash, the game need a verify the gamefiles (I did this so many times and had never issues or damaged files etc.) before starting the game. Yesterday I tried this, but I have my doubts. I don't know, it's just my theory. I'll keep trying!

I'd argue that it doesn't matter if it was cleanly shut. It's just a matter of whether you get to save cloud data (green loading icon) and if you crash, you get that "do you want to retry?" launcher window. I abuse the shit out of this game, lol. Most of the time when I close it, I kill it via keyboard shortcut, because it's faster. I have it rendering videos for hours on end, often overnight. I run it while having video editing apps in the background, run it at different settings including maxed out when rendering. I even often forget a crypto miner window running (lol) and only notice when I see the game is laggy a bit.

I think (fingers crossed)its finaly been sorted.I've now had 4 consecutive days without any ctd.Six of the last seven Windows 10 updates have been making changes to Netframwork, which was also the source of many problems back with GTA4.Weather this was the true source of the problem I don't know, but I do know that Windows10 build 1903 has been very problomatic in various areas as Microsoft itself says that that particular build was not tested fully before it was released. They have now changed their testing procedures to more fully and rigorously test a windows build before releasing it, so better late than never i suppose.

Yeah, the last Win10 Updates had many issues and new bugs. For me it was a 20% CPU utilization for Cortona, although it has always been disabled. (Solved myself) And big issues with my old printer after I installed my fresh Win10. I was about to order a new printer because it was not recognized and I had to assume that it was suddenly broken. The day I wanted to pick up the new printer from the post office, the old printer came to life. I immediately sent the new printer back. The last days, I read it was a stupid Win10 Version. So, I'm waiting for the November Update 19H2 aka 1909.

From the GTAForums:
Finally, the first admission after some weeks and months that there is a problem with the game itself. If that is true. A friend and a workmate of me have the same crash issues.
The last days, I tested a mix of combinations with some GPU-Driver and Dx11/10.1/10. But it's still randomly crashing for me. Sometimes just 30min, sometimes 3h and between that. Like always...
