Transform Races Looks Good, But Isn’t What GTA Online Needs Right NowGTA Online’s next DLC, Transform Races, is out next Tuesday. The update, which is seemingly the last non-dripfed, non-event and non-Adversary Mode update for the rest of 2017, is another take on the stunt race formula introduced by Cunning Stunts a year ago. It looks like great fun, but it also seems all too familiar. More or less since the release of Further Adventures In Finance And Felony, GTA Online has struggled to innovate in any field outside of the constantly produced Adversary Modes. Yeah, no wonder people stop giving a damn if all R* does is reskinning the f&f system. For the other dlc-type I'm actually more excited, at least it adds something new to the creator... at some point. Till then it's limited to their sub-par creations.
But there's one thing that article didn't quite get: Transform races aren't really a dlc to begin with (more like a tunables update), but more importantly R* already announced we'll be getting new properties via maze bank foreclosure near the end of this year. And foreclosure means it will likely be another one of those public lobby updates. *rolls eyes*
And while having ideas for exciting fresh and new content is one thing it's another if the team working on GTA is able to do more than what we got recently and if there's really an incentive for R* to make it.
