Loved the recent Classic events, and I would like to propose semi-organized racing that is in between a multi-hour multi-track event and just a casual PL. I'm thinking 1 or 2 tracks, with a race duration of 2 x 15, or 1 x 20-25min.
Idea is to pick a suitable track and class/car and just start it at an announced time.
If we go with contact-racing, I would like two settings:
1) Qualifying to determine grid position, alternatively self-proclaimed pace (fast tryhard or casual)
2) Rolling start and/or spacious single-file grid
This to avoid the first corner/lap aids, which needs active avoidance especially if using fast cars and tight tracks. With contact-racing, tight grids and tight corners, accidents will be frequent and it can be a bit random who is affected. I want to skip that part and jump directly to when the race has settled down and everyone has found their place and it's all about driving, fine-tuning racing line, hitting apexes and gaining a few tenths on your competitors every corner. With shorter racer, I often feel like the race is just beginning when it's over.
If qualifying, we do one single-lap race of non-contact, everyone starts same place, and finishing position determines grid position for actual race, which is loaded thereafter. Track then also fresh in memory, good for those of us who have non-stick brain and poor sense of navigation.
If non-contact, no rules and setup needed. Blah blah blah. I was thinking weekday evening, and some tracks/cars I'd like to race:
Any Lemans track by DrKloden, especially SPA, Marlowe, Parkour, Palomino, Vespucci, supers/sport
Cranberry Vampire By Kasumi, Supers (non-contact), Muscle, Classic
Midtown Madness, JokerNaughty, Muscle, Sports, Classic
Gangsta's paradise by Kasumi, Muscle
Most GTV8 Tracks from Classic Event, Classic, Sport, Muscle, Super++
Let me know if anyone would be interested in this.
