I might have already said it, but I am definetly going to rework all my tracks with this upcomming update. This especially goes for the Bravado National Speedway, which I consider to be among my best tracks (hence why I make the name sound official).
And even though I really like this one, it might change a lot (just raise the prop limit far enough, R*) and I thought about sharing the thought process in this thread.
So, what do I want to change here? It's basicly about softening out bumps, redoing the pit lane, using prettier props where possible (but functionality comes first, so no tyre stacks), keeping players off the sidewalks, getting better limitations for the insides of corners and maybe getting rid of some narrow spots. The basic track layout shall not be altered in any meaningfull way, though.
So let's go through what I've planned, I'll address the changes in the order you encounter them during a lap. Pictures (before and, if everything works out, after) will follow.
Start/Finish-straight:
It's the long straigt on the left of the map, it has quite a bump which makes cars fly. Not that critical on a straight, but maybe I'll work around it anyways. The track is driven clockwise, so it's up and then right into the next part up for debate.
Highway after the first corner:
I like the width of the higway itself, lots of space, even more than you need for a straight, but the ramps are a bit narrow, especially in the first seconds of a contact race. My wish, which is not that realistic with the current prop limit, is to build a bridge from one side to the other, slightly above the highway itself. I think it would have a terific effect when you drive on it and as the new road pieces are quite large, this maybe wouldn't even need that many extra props.
Straights before and after the hairpin:
Idealy I want to block the sidewalks and the spaces in the middle completely.I could imagine using again the new road pieces (if they are added), but in a way that you only see the curbs and railings.
Most of the following corners:
These things need proper inside barriers. If you crash into the existing ones you just fly off the track. I don't mind people going onto the sidewalks with the inside wheels, but that's about as far as I want that to go.
Entering the highway:
This corner is quite a pain, which I kinda like, but I'd rather slightly elevate the track here so it's smooth.
Off- and on-ramp:
This is a risky spot. You will lose contact to the ground and if you are not careful, you can crash badly. I kinda like it though, especially as you can dare it. Would likely just keep people on the highway instead of fiddleing with this part. Or elevate the whole thing to the Highway level, it gives the banked corner a nice angle after all.
Banked curve:
Made of floating platforms and wooden walls. I could propably remake it out of something with more grip, but I kinda like that this corner isn't a no-brainer. I'll most likely try this as a seperate version.
Tunnel under banked curve:
The inside barriers are cringeworthy, outside limitations not much better. Can't have people on the right side, unless I change the banked corner above. Could again use the roads.
Pit lane:
Entrance looks clunky, but works just fine, but I'll definetly straighten up the whole thing and slow down players using bushes, which has proven to work quite well.
Well, that's my wishlist so far. Quite a lot of work for a track I actually consider good.
Depending on what's really in the dlc this might take a while or I might not be able to do more than 3-4 things. Pit lane is definetly going to change, Highway-Entrance is a thing I was thinking about since I made the track, rest is mostly up to debate, especially considering the prop limit.
If anyone has an opinion about any of the changes I plan or something I haven't even considered, please let me know. That would help a lot. If you even made it through this way too long post. xD
