General schedule:
Event-Start as 20:00 GMT on Saturday 13th of February.
Seven races total, each about 15 to 20 minutes.
Cars:
A fully upgraded costum Banshee 900R or any of the stock supercars for people who don't have the Banshee (you'll get one before the race really starts).
Rules:
This is a contact event in GTA-Mode.
Shooting/Bombing isn't allowed.
Crashes might happen, but please don't purposly ram someone. If you cause a crash, wait until others pass (especially ones you hit) before continuing the race.
Respawn only, if you can't continue the race in any other way (excluding the pre-starting procedure).
When the race starts, please wait. There are some preparations to be done before the race will really start (wait for chatmessage). These will happen in every race, please follow the given instructions so that won't take too long.
Pit Stops are available. You can do as many as you want, there are repair-pickups available. One pit stop per race is mandatory, so everybody will have to drive through the pit at least once (and not on the last lap except stated differently). You do not have to wait there nor pick up the repair-item, just drive through there. This isn't monitored, please play fair.
The starting procedure:
We are likely to have players in this event who won't have a fully upgraded Banshee 900R, but luckily in GTA-Races you can spawn multipe cars of the same type, so they can drive a dublicate.
Neccesary steps:
1.:Wait until the starting timer runs out, don't start like in a normal race.
2.:Check your starting position.
3a.:Players who have the Banshee drive slightly aside to make room in the middle of the road.
3b.:Players in other cars park those away from the track without going through any checkpoints.
4.:Then they return to the starting field on food and pick a Banshee they want to drive (please split up).
5.,6.,&7.:The owner leaves the Banshee, waits (important) for the other player to get in and then respawns.
8.:When everybody has a Banshee we reform a starting grid with our initial positions.
9.:I lay out some bombs andblow everyone up err, send a starting signal that way or through chat.
We will have to do this for every race (one reason why there are only 7), so please try to be quick so this won't be 5 minutes waiting time for everyone.
The playlist is available here.
Original opening post below:
As this car looks more like a proper racecar (okay, depends on the tuning ) than most of the other ones in the game, this event could be a bit more on the serious side as well. And I mean contact races with mandatory pit stops and longer but fewer races. I'd say about 6 to 8 races with 15 to 20 minutes lenght each.
I know there is a slight problem with this event when it comes to getting the car. But as we would use the GTA-mode, we could spawn multiple Banshees at the start instead of having everybody to buy one. If they are reinforced (mine certainly is) they shouldn't explode.
Another point on the list are the tracks. We'd need some that not only have a pit lane and a 30 player grid, but also can truely support that many cars. By that I mean that the tracks will have to be wide enough, especially after the start, so races won't just begin with a big crash.
Last but not least I'd like some feedback from you guys:
What do you think about the idea in general?
Do you have the car?
Any tracks you'd like to suggest? (GTV8-tracks would be prefered, I have some myself we could use if there is space left)
I'm not putting down a fixed date right now (but expect it to be a saturday evening in february) as I have to sort some things out the next week and it also depends on your feedback wether or not this will be a thing ('cause doing this with ~5 people wouldn't be that much fun ).
