As some of the new cars look like they come straight from Le Mans I thought we might as well just make an event around the legendary endurance race. Likely won't be 24 hours though. Date: 6th of August, 8pm UTC with a prelobby starting at 7.30pm General overlook:This event will feature only one race, likely Bravado National Club. Race-lenght is 45 laps, should take about 1 hour. There will be three sub-classes, the LMP, GT1 and GT2. Race will be held in GTA mode with mandatory pit stops. We can also spawn cars, if needed. Everybody can choose the car they want, as long as there are not too many drivers in one class (limit will be 11 per class). This will be a shared event with NoDo, so people should be familiar with their racing guidelines (third article). This also means we need do this with sign-ups and will get a mandatory TS-channel (mic not required, but you need to be able to listen). Please make sure to set that up before the event and join the official event waiting room before it starts. Classes:Though I'd love to see some multi-class races featuring multiple cars per class, this is not it. In fact in this event there will be restrictions on each car, not every setup will be allowed (especially since some setups are quite broken and this isn't even consistent for everybody). LMP: Annis RE-7BRestrictions: Stock tyres, stock spoiler GT1: Progen TyrusRestrictions: Stock tyres, stock spoiler GT2: Bravado Banshee 900RRestrictions: No offroad tyres, roof required Teams: In many NoDo events, teams are required with the cars sharing the same colours and maybe even logo. There are a lot of ingame-sponsors to choose from and some teams even have crews, organized on the NoDo forums. That said, I'd rather leave this up to you guys whether or not you want to make teams or go in as solo drivers. If you choose to form a team, you can either have 2 drivers, no matter which class(es) each one picks or 3 drivers, one per class. Starting procedure:As the theme is Le Mans, I'd like to do something similar to a Le Mans-style start (but with everybody already in the car). This means we park the cars, seperated by classes, on one side of the track at an angle and all start on the signal (sticky bombs). The track's straight is open at the back, which should give more than enough space for this. Also this should mean that the cars will be spaced out enough so the first corners won't be a total desaster. Also for this I'd like to have faster drivers starting further at the back of their class. The starting positions in each class will be determined using random.org, so no "first come, first serve" Pit stops:Pits are drive-through, entrance before the last corner, exit on the straight after. People exiting the pit must stay on the left, people on the track stay on the right side, if there are multiple people fighting when someone wants to leave the pit, that person has to let them pass. Mandatory pitstops: 4 per personSign-ups: Just leave a post stating which class/car you are in, I'll put it in the tables[/b][/div][/b] LMP: (FULL)Number (just sign-up order) Player Team (if given) Alternative (if given) 1 Prismide Vangelico LM Motorsport2 Esperante_LMP1 JackSheepe Racing3 RedShift EgoChaser Racing4 novesori Benny's Motorworks5 Bezerka3 Pegasus Racing6 TheZZman2000 Team STD Contactors7 Madderose Progen Racing 8 nick420guy BUMS9 metoxys El Banco CGRT10 martindurin Malibu Club Vice CityGT1: (FULL)Number (just sign-up order) Player Team (if given) Alternative (if given) 1 Skirakzalus 2 inferiis EgoChaser Racing3 Daleks Beeker's Garage 4 acerific Pride Brew Crew5 (Zenvohh) Pegasus Racing6 SlothEdits Vangelico LM Motorsport 7 madthimmy 8 killerpenguinno 9 doompenguin 10 akajajohn Malibu Club Vice City 11 HeroGut Securoserv

Personally, I'd rather not race with the NoDo crew. I did for a long time, and it's still okay occasionally, or with them in small numbers, (and some of them individually are good people,) in general those guys are pretty young, which means whiny and immature. Combine that with voice chat, and it usually turn out to be a pretty miserable time. The only reason I got through Le Mans was because our team was from this crew. I was invited to race semi-pro, and turned it down, for the reasons I've stated. I'm not saying NoDo is a bad crew, I'm still a member of it and have friends there, but the culture in that group's events are very different, and for the most part extremely toxic, or at least unenjoyable. Racing with GTV8, in our own events, has never been like that. As far as I can tell, the people, along with the crew values of "maturity" and "respect" are what makes this crew different. I know what you mean. I remember an incident with one NoDo-member killing another one for bounty and the others just told everyone, who reminded them about the rules, to stop bitching. That's the problem with a crew being open for everyone and that big. On the other hand I do race with some of them quite often and find the majority of people on the daily playlist to be nice. Also I think I kinda need to do this, because otherwise it will be a lonely event where we don't get enough people to make this format work.

Yeah, that's true, the rallycross event really took off. Just recently I stumbled upon someone hosting that playlist again with Omins and Tropos (which I also was thinking about, but we didn't have anything since than and I'd rather shake it up a bit).
The problem with this event is that it requires the cars to be in a certain setup (don't like the RE-7B in it's bugged form and it's not the same speed for everyone), which means people have to read the op. I like the idea of swithing the cars around, but that would mean a good portion of people would havbe to own all of them which isn't realistic as two cost 5+ millions and the third is generally shit for racing.
One thing with the Multiclass Racing is that it needs some time to have an effect, because the classes need to mix up. Looking at the numbers, I might have to change to a much shorter track to get traffic to work earlier. Might not be the track for this.
Tayloring the race around an ingame day-night-cycle sounds interesting and might be the way to go to not make it too long.

It's a nice idea to make another original event and i'm glad you build up the project. But honestly, i'm not that kind of endurant nor competitive racer, and so i'm not attracted by this type of races. If i can i may login, but it will be more for interests of spectating (or doing the photo heli ) if a slot is availible. Anyways good luck for it

Anyways good luck for it Thx. ^^ I kinda feel like this will be the stance many people have about this, though others have been requesting endurance races and multiclass. Right now I am having some troubles getting a good track for this event. The one I initially chose is too long, there won't be much lapping, unless someone is far off the pace. Also, depending on the track, spectators might NOT be allowed as they cause trains to spawn. To be honest getting another track for this isn't that easy. Just went through my stuff and, apart from me not being that happy with many of them, I only found 2 tracks that kinda fit the criteria with one being too easy and the other one keeping the cars at low speed, which keeps the classes together way too much. I'll try to build another circuit, but with the editor being broken as it is I might cancel this until we get the update.

Changed the track to a shorter version of it (less than half the original lap times), because this way we'll have the same amount of people spreading out over a shorter distance which will lead to more encounters during the race making it more interesting. From first testing it looks like the pace-difference between LMP and GT2 is about 3.6 seconds per lap (1:12.3 to 1:15.9). Couldn't test GT1 yet as my Tyrus is in a different setup for an upcoming event, but it's likely between the two with a tendency towards LMP.

Updated the op: The event is now available on NoDo's forum, also the op now includes a link to their description on how to setup TS with the required channel data. Note: People will only get into this event over invites using the friendslist, there won't be any crew-wide invites (which also aren't relyable).

Been looking through the calendar on NoDo's forum to find a date for this event. I initially wanted it to be before the creator update, but there wasn't a good place (also sign-ups need some time). Oh, and speaking of which: It's now open for sign-ups! On the NoDo side it isn't through yet, but I don't see a reason why it would be rejected.

Reminder: If you want to participate, please let me know with a post in this thread. There won't be any invites to people who are not on the list (which will be made once people actually sign up).
Also I got some feedback from a NoDo-commisioner about this on their side: I'll drop the rule about faster people starting further behind. There is no real way to determine that anyways (unless I make a qualfying, where a better result gives people a disadvantage, which already sounds stupid).
On a second note: I might need to use another track, they usually don't allow people to use their own tracks in their first event. But that person said he'll also test it first and than either give the okay or I'll have to look for someone else's job, preferably from a NoDo member, I guess. And that could be a nightmare considering the requirements for this track (short, pitlane, wide enough for contact races, must have a long straight or be open enough to grid up Le Mans-style with enough space so the first corner won't be a mass-crash, also this was made to be high-speed as well as have the right type of corners to differenciate the classes). Let's just say there went a bit more into it than just "I'ma gonna make-a short version of dis track!"

Just updated the sign-up section again. The event has been approved on NoDo's side, including the track (though I'll update it when the new creator comes out). Also it is filling up quite fast (which I honestly didn't expect), so if any of you want to be in this, let me know here. Also please don't vote, if you aren't participating.

Hi ski, i would like to join as a cameraman. I would stay next to the street mostly. But i often have the problem that i lose my connection to the server in a big lobby. I drop out before the session is started and can't rejoin in time. So the host would have to have a look if i am in the lobby when he starts, that would be nice.

I didn't plan for a cameraman to be in this, but getting some footage of this surely would be nice.

grandpa4711 Unfortunately the event is completely full (which I didn't expect). I would have loved to get some cool footage, but this is primarily focused on racing so I have to swap you out for another driver.
